Wowee this year is flying by! Has it really been that long since I updated this blog? Shame on me!
I've had some busy times with making soaps and other lovelies, expanding the range, topping up shops, attending markets and festivals, and generally trying to balance business with everything else in life :-)
Just over a week ago I was fortunate to attend the very first Leura Harvest Festival here in the lovely Blue Mountains, and what a gorgeous day! It is mid autumn here (for those followers in the Northern hemisphere!) and the whole street, closed to traffic for the day, was lined with leaves of red, orange and yellow... absolutely beautiful! The day proved to be a huge success for all involved, stallholders and organisers, as well as the crowds of shoppers. Once again I seem to have underestimated the busy-ness of the day, and had pretty much sold out of stock by mid afternoon- no small feat considering we had 3 large tables full!
This weekend sees us at Bathurst Artisan Market for the first time, followed by Harmony Markets right here in our lovely little village of Mount Victoria. As much as I enjoy making for my stockists and shops, I do love chatting directly with customers and finding out what they like, and helping to find just the perfect thing...
Speaking of stockists, a new centre has now joined The Natural Soap Emporium stockist list too - a wonderful space in Blackheath called The Hub - Arts & Crafts Centre. Filled with all kinds of amazing hand crafted artisan goods from local makers - it was quite an honour to be part of their establishment and to have my creations for sale in there :-)
Right now it is full steam ahead in preparation for our first visit to the Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival in June - I am crazy excited and terrified at the same time - it is by far the biggest festival for our little business yet! With a crowd exceeding 40,000 visitors not unheard of, it is going to be HUGE !!! Best get my soaping gear back on...........!
